Viehhofen is very easy to reach. By car, you can easily reach the region via the A8 highway from Munich toward Salzburg. It’s just as convenient to travel by train to the station in Zell am See or by plane via the nearby airports in Salzburg and Munich.

Both airports offer year-round shuttle service to the region around Saalbach-Hinterglemm and Viehhofen, so you can easily reach your accommodations even without a car.

By Car

The directions to Viehhofen are simple and well-signposted.

From Germany (without a vignette)

• A8 Munich – Salzburg
• Take the Siegsdorf exit toward Inzell
• Continue through Lofer and Maishofen
• Go straight to Viehhofen

From Vienna & Eastern Austria

• A1 Westautobahn toward Salzburg
• Wals-Lofer exit
• Via Bad Reichenhall (DE) toward Lofer (AT)
• Via Lofer and Maishofen to Viehhofen

From the south (Brenner)

• A10 Tauern Autobahn to Bischofshofen
• B311 toward Zell am See
• Viehhofen exit

From there:

• about 10 minutes by taxi
• regular bus service toward Saalbach (every hour)

International train connections are available from Munich, Salzburg, and Innsbruck, among other cities.
